Short Bio

Paul Kern regularly recites cowboy poetry in Montana, Idaho and Utah. He has been awarded the Lariat Laureate on CowboyPoetry.com. His poetry has been the subject of university classes in China and Alabama and has been featured by Angela Krass, a New York agent, with the cowboy photography of top-ranked photographer Arthur Meyerson. He works his horse farm in Utah and runs a seasonal cattle operation in Idaho. He is married to the former Kathryn Gates, they have four children. Paul's poetry reflects personal experiences, family life and the western values he holds. Paul is an engaging entertainer and enjoys putting on shows with the cowboy band Latigo and other cowboy poets, but still considers himself first and foremost a writer and secondarily a reciter and performer. His poems tend to be short and highly nuanced.
